In addition to the pre-existing quick-create options of Jobs, Activities, Availability, and Unavailability, Admins can now also add the following create-screens as quick-create menu links:

  • Availability pattern
  • Account
  • Contact
  • Holiday
  • Location
  • Region
  • Tag
  • Resource
  • Asset
  • User

For each quick create menu item added, the admin can choose which other user roles the menu item should be visible for (similar to how the existing navigation menu customization tool works). 

You can also add a custom link as a quick-create menu option if you want users to navigate to either an internal or external custom create screen. Additionally, you can also customize the name of each quick-create menu option (e.g. changing the label for "Jobs" to "Work").

This allows more flexibility and customizability of the web app experience by tailoring the create UX workflows for each user persona according to specific business requirements. 

For example, you might have Resources that login to the web app but you don't want them accidentally navigating to the screens for creating Availability or Jobs, only Activities. Or, you might want to drive users to create Jobs in an external system, rather 

How do I enable this feature?

At present, this feature is still in Beta and behind a feature flag that needs to be enabled first before the feature can be used.

To enable this feature, simply navigate to "Settings" > "Beta features", and then enable the "Enable customizable quick create menu" setting. You might need to refresh your web browser screen for the feature to take effect.
