Faces of Skedulo: Niki Patkar
People are the heart of Skedulo, and success—for us, our team and our customers—is a collaborative effort. We are proud of our team’s achievements and celebrate them every month with our Skedgend Awards. A Skedgend is a teammate who has been nominated by their peers for consistently demonstrating excellence in our values:
Niki Patkar, Sales Operations Manager, based in San Francisco | Skedgend Award Winner, Q1 2022
How long have you been with Skedulo?
I’ve been at Skedulo for 9 months now.
What is your role at Skedulo?
I work as a Sales Ops Manager in the Sales Ops team. Our team does operations for the sales team, so anything from contracting to analyzing our quarterly metrics, to implementing new tools and systems for the sales team.
What have you learned most since joining Skedulo?
This is my first time working in a sales area specifically and I’ve learned a lot about the ins and outs of a sales team. Our team is small and mighty so I feel that I’ve had a lot of opportunities to take on new projects and learn a lot about how sales works.
What company values were you nominated for?
There were a few, but the two that kept coming up were No Shenanigans and Fearless Together.
What do those values mean to you?
No Shenanigans is one of my favourite values. It means no nonsense, get the work done, focus on what you need to do, and keep your eyes on the prize.
Fearless Together is another great value; the togetherness aspect is very important here. I think the reason we accomplish so much at Skedulo is because of the team component. Everyone is so willing to help one another and they’re all very understanding and open.
How did winning the Skedgend award make you feel?
Very proud of course! I was surprised when I got the nomination. It was humbling to be recognised for all the work I had put in and I appreciated the acknowledgement.
What moment supported your Skedgend award?
The end of year is very busy for the sales team – we’re trying to hit our targets and we have a lot of deals coming in. It was a very busy time and meant lots of teamwork and relying on one another, but it was very satisfying hitting that goal. It made the win that much better.
What does being a Skedgend mean to you?
It feels good to have the recognition from my teammates of the work that was put in. It’s very motivating and makes me want to work even harder. I carry it with honour; I feel like it was a big deal and am really proud of the accomplishment.
How do you manage being a Skedgend and home life?
The week I signed my offer from Skedulo I also got a new puppy. I don’t have kids so that was like my foray into parenthood. Everyone was so understanding of background noises and any small issues I would have, and being able to work from home really helped too as I could do meetings and take my dog out in between. The flexibility has been really nice.
